Privacy Policy

Effective July 2026. This Privacy Policy explains how The Meier Co, doing business as SoBoApps (“we,” “us,” “our”), handles information in connection with this website (allaboardcc.com) and the All Aboard Cruise Companion mobile and watch apps. The short version: the app is local-first — your cruise details live on your own device and no account is required to use it. Cloud Sync is an optional feature you turn on yourself; only if you do does a free account and your synced cruise data get stored on our server so you can reach it across your devices and the web planner. The details are below.

Who we are

Our website address is https://allaboardcc.com. All Aboard Cruise Companion is a product of The Meier Co (DBA SoBoApps). You can reach us about privacy at support@themeierco.com. This policy covers both this website and the All Aboard mobile and watch apps.

The All Aboard app — local-first by default

You can use All Aboard without an account and without sending us anything. By default:

  • The cruise details you enter — sailing dates, port itineraries, passengers, packing lists, budgets, and reminders — are stored on your device, not on any server we operate.
  • No account, username, or password is required.
  • We do not see your payment method, billing address, card number, Google account, or Apple ID. In-app purchases (such as removing ads) are processed entirely by Google Play or the Apple App Store.
  • We do not track you across other apps or websites, and we do not collect your device’s location.
  • We do not sell, rent, or share user data with data brokers.

Cloud Sync — the optional account and what it stores

Cloud Sync is off until you choose to create an account and turn it on. It lets you save your cruises to your account and keep them in sync across your phone, watch, other devices, and the allaboardcc.com web planner. If you enable it, here is exactly what we store on our server:

  • Account information — the email address and password you register. Your password is stored in a securely hashed form (we cannot read it). We send you a verification email to confirm the address, and transactional emails such as password resets.
  • The cruise data you choose to sync — the same content you entered locally. Depending on what you fill in, this can include your itinerary and ports, packing lists, budget/ledger entries, booking confirmation numbers, and passenger details you add: names, passport expiration dates, Known Traveler / Global Entry numbers, airline and cruise-line loyalty numbers, cabin assignments, and dietary notes. You control what you enter and what you sync — if you don’t want a detail on our server, don’t enter it, or keep Cloud Sync off.

How it is protected and used. Data synced to your account is transmitted over an encrypted connection (HTTPS/TLS) and stored on our server solely to provide the sync feature to you. We do not use it for advertising, we do not sell or rent it, and we do not share it with our affiliate partners or any other third party. Only you (signed in to your account) and, for support and maintenance, our administrators can access it.

Deleting a cruise vs. deleting your account. Deleting a cruise on one device is a local action — it doesn’t automatically remove the copy on your other devices or on the web; delete it on each place you want it gone. To remove everything from our server, delete your account (see “Your rights and account deletion” below), which erases your account and all cruise data associated with it.

What the All Aboard app accesses on your device

Separately from Cloud Sync, the app accesses certain data on your device to function. Accessing data on a device and transmitting it off the device are different things; the stores’ privacy forms require both to be disclosed. Nothing below is transmitted to us unless you have enabled Cloud Sync and it forms part of the cruise data you sync.

AccessPurpose
Photos / CameraOnly when you explicitly pick a photo to attach to a travel document or cruise. We do not otherwise browse your photo library.
Alarms / Schedule exact alarmTo schedule the all-aboard / departure alarm at the time you set. Local to the device.
Notifications (post) — Android 13+To display the notifications and reminders you request, such as an all-aboard alert firing at the time you set.
InternetFor Cloud Sync (if enabled), weather forecasts, the optional live ship map, in-app-purchase checks, and banner ads until ad removal is purchased. See “Third-party services” below.
Smartwatch sync — with a paired watchTo sync the cruise countdown between your phone and a paired Wear OS or Apple Watch, device-to-device through the platform’s own services.

Third-party services

The All Aboard app and website integrate with the following third-party services, each governed by its own privacy policy. (Affiliate partners are described under “Affiliate & advertising disclosure” below.)

  • Google Play Billing / Apple In-App Purchase — process in-app purchases such as removing ads. We do not see payment details. See Google’s and Apple’s privacy policies.
  • Google AdMob — the app may display banner ads until ad-removal is purchased. We configure AdMob to serve non-personalized ads only — not based on your behavior, browsing history, or advertising identifier. See Google’s ads policy.
  • Open-Meteo — a free public weather API used for port forecasts. We send only the city or port name — no GPS coordinates and no personal or device identifier. See Open-Meteo’s terms.
  • AISStream — powers the optional live ship map from public marine (AIS) broadcasts. We send the ship or area you’re viewing; no personal information about you is sent. See AISStream.
  • OpenStreetMap — supplies the map tiles for the cruise map on the web planner. Your browser requests map imagery from OpenStreetMap’s tile servers for the area you view. See the OSM Foundation policy.

Affiliate & advertising disclosure

This website and the All Aboard app include optional “Sponsored” links to third-party travel partners. We may earn a commission — at no additional cost to you — when you book or purchase through one of these links. We only feature partners we believe are relevant to cruisers.

Our current affiliate partners are Viator (shore excursions and tours, shown in the app), CruiseDirect.com (cruise bookings) and CheapCaribbean.com (vacation packages, beach-resort stays, and flights) — both via the Commission Junction network and shown on this website — and Expedia (hotels and activities, shown within the app).

When you click a Sponsored link, the affiliate network and destination site may place a cookie in your browser to record that your visit came from us, so any resulting booking is credited to us. These cookies expire after a limited window and then lapse. Using these links is entirely optional, and you never pay more by booking through them.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not pass any information you give us — or anything you enter into the All Aboard app — on to our affiliate partners. Once you click through, you leave our site or app and are governed by the partner’s own privacy policy: Viator, Commission Junction, CruiseDirect, CheapCaribbean, and Expedia. In keeping with U.S. Federal Trade Commission guidelines (16 CFR Part 255), every affiliate link is clearly labeled “Sponsored.”

How long we keep your data

If you enable Cloud Sync, your account and synced cruise data are retained until you delete them or delete your account. Deleting your account removes your account record and all cruise data associated with it from our server. Local data on your device is removed when you delete it in the app or uninstall the app.

Your rights and account deletion

If you created a Cloud Sync account, you can at any time:

  • Delete your account and all its data — from within the app (Cloud Sync → Delete account) or by requesting deletion at allaboardcc.com/delete-account. This permanently erases your account and every cruise stored under it on our server.
  • Export or erase your personal data — you may request a copy of the personal data we hold about you, or its erasure, by emailing us. This does not include data we must keep for legal or security reasons.

If you never enabled Cloud Sync, we hold no account or cruise data about you, and uninstalling the app removes your local data.

This website (allaboardcc.com)

The sections below cover the website itself — comments, cookies, and standard WordPress behavior. The web-based Cruise Planner uses the same account described under “Cloud Sync” above.

Comments

When visitors leave comments on the site we collect the data shown in the comments form, and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection. An anonymized string created from your email address (a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to see if you are using it; see the Gravatar service privacy policy. After approval of your comment, your profile picture is visible to the public in the context of your comment.

Media

If you upload images to the website, avoid uploading images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS), as visitors can download and extract any location data from images on the website.

Cookies

If you leave a comment you may opt in to saving your name, email, and website in cookies for your convenience; these last one year. When you log in we set cookies to save your login and screen-display choices (login cookies last two days, or two weeks with “Remember Me”; screen-option cookies last a year); logging out removes the login cookies. A temporary cookie set at the login page to check that your browser accepts cookies contains no personal data and is discarded when you close your browser.

Embedded content from other websites

Articles may include embedded content (videos, images, etc.). Embedded content from other websites behaves exactly as if you visited the other website, and those sites may collect data about you, use cookies, embed third-party tracking, and monitor your interaction with that content.

Children’s privacy

All Aboard is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal information through our app or website, please contact us so we can address it.

International users

The Meier Co is based in the United States, and our server is located in the United States. If you use our app or website from outside the US and enable Cloud Sync, your information is processed and stored in the US. The third-party services we integrate with (Google, Apple, Open-Meteo, AISStream, OpenStreetMap, and our affiliate partners) act as their own data controllers under their own policies.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The effective date at the top indicates when the most recent update was made. Material changes affecting the app will be communicated through the app or its Google Play / Apple App Store listing on the next update.
